?The Los Rios Park in San Juan Capistrano was the backdrop for the first Eco/Xpo on May 17 & 18.Over 2500 people meandered through the park using the colorful umbrellas as their guide to the the 50 + plant and product booths and the educational speakers. This 2 day event allowed the community to take home valuable information, water saving plants, household products ,new ideas and concepts to use in the garden or home.For the environmentally and efficiency minded a variety of products were available to check out, electric and energy saving cars,solar and LED for the home. SDG&E "Right Place -Right Tree" program gave away to the first 100 people free trees. CR&R Disposal handed out fresbies to the young at heart.Food at the event was provided by Ricardos Place, Mission Grill and Doggy Depot:Gourmet Hot Dogs. Goin Native Therapeutic Gardens Chef Giuseppina, provided fresh hummus accompanied with organic vegetables from our local farm, South Coast Farms.Local weavers from the Acjachemen Indian tribe demonstrated beautiful basketry and jewelry weaving using local grass and reeds.The first Eco/Xpo was truly a success, next years date will be announced soon.
