As rain pummels California, some see a way to fight drought
During our recent rains, we saw much of the water disappear into storm drains, brought to the ocean. But there are groups out there working to retain some of that water. The State Water Resources Control Board recently approved a measure to distribute to $200 million to projects devoted to rainwater recapture. Los Angeles and Orange County take advantage of large underground aquifers, while San Diego must get a little more creative.
