Goin Native Therapeutic Gardens is working with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley, providing a hands-on cooking program for middle school students.
Our healthy food and edible program will teach students the benefits of eating right. We’ve crafted hands-on cooking classes, utilizing whole foods to teach simple ways to make easy meals. We will be introducing a wide variety of fruits and vegetables for students to work with in the kitchen. Upon the completion of the program, the students receive a certificate and practical experience in the kitchen, preparing healthy food for themselves and others.
Giusy Colucci grew up in her family’s restaurant, Il Merlo (The Blackbird) on the shores of Lake Garda in Italy. After moving to CA, she started a Massari Foods, giving private lessons on traditional healthy Italian cooking, and is now frequently called upon to advise community mothers on how to prepare nutritional foods that children will enjoy eating. She keeps her Italian traditions alive by consistently preparing meals that are based on the natural foods of her home country.
